Case Study

A case study was carried out on a Highland Malt Distillery. The results are summarised and links to further information on technical pages can be found below:

Summary

The technologies have been summarized by the comparison in terms of capital costs, operational costs and the carbon emissions.

​Based on the following key performance indicators, hydrogen wins among all four technologies due to high potential of decarbonisation and economic feasibility in the longer term. However, it is very important to note that the economic viability is based on green hydrogen costs predictions going down in the future. Hence, the risk of financial infeasibility remains
